Lineage OS 15.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo is finally here Lineage OS 15.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo is finally here

After a long wait of almost three months, LineageOS 15.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo is finally out. Of course, this is great news as LineageOS is one of the highest used custom ROMs being the spiritual successor of CyanogenMod. The new version that was teased in December currently doesn’t support many devices but we’re likely to see additions soon. Currently, many devices are not eligible for the new version due to lack of support for a working HAL1 camera recorder. But we’re told that they’re working on it.

LineageOS 15.1 comes with some great new features apart from the already neat ones tucked in Android 8.1. Of course, this is not the complete list. For a full run-down of features watch this video below.

Users can now select light and dark UI and custom accent colours. A new Automagic feature changes themes automatically suited to your wallpapers
Trebuchet Launcher now supports icon packs and adaptive icons. Camera app has a built-in QR Code scanner.

Nightlies of the new build will begin from Monday (February 26). Here are the devices that are supported right now.

Google Nexus 6P – angler
Google Nexus 5X – bullhead
LeEco Le Pro3 / Le Pro3 Elite – zl1
OnePlus 3 / 3T – oneplus3
OnePlus 5 – cheeseburger
